The previous Samsung Galaxy S5 was definitely an impressive piece of kit, boasting a full HD 1080p resolution and sizing its screen up at 5.1”. But with the Galaxy S6 we have seen some brilliant improvements to make it one of the best smartphone displays on the market.

QHD resolution is the most important inclusion, similar to that on the Galaxy Note 4, whilst the actual size of the display on the S6 hasn’t changed a bit. Samsung has even given us the world’s first three sided display with the Galaxy S6 Edge, which is perfect if you fancy something a bit different!

Add all of this to the already lengthy list of Samsung display technology, Super AMOLED is a great example, and you have yourself one top notch smartphone screen. This obviously appeals to plenty of mobile users, but especially those who watch a lot of media or play games through their device.

Samsung has finally jumped onto the metallic bandwagon! Ditching the rubberised design of the S5, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is arguably the best looking Samsung smartphone ever. It does come at a cost though – with the IP68 certification no longer included, and removable batteries now a thing of the past.

The iPhone 6 and HTC One M8 have both performed on the sales charts, and many put this down to a mixture of the powerful specs and metallic construction. Now, Samsung should be able to reap some of these benefits as well.

The Galaxy S5 was a great flagship phone, but as is the case with most technology, it has since become outdated. This is a natural occurrence for smartphones, with many devices released just three months ago being considered ‘old’.

To combat this, Samsung has introduced more powerful specs on its successor, and we don’t think we’ll be getting let down with the S6. Boasting up to 128GB storage, 3GB RAM and an octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset, with Samsung ditching the now incredibly cramped 16GB memory option.

The inclusion of this kind of spec list makes the Galaxy S6 supremely powerful, and has created something of a media storm at its release. It also makes it one of the fastest smartphones ever made, something which is certain to boost sales.

Flashy new features are what sway undecided buyers into purchasing a certain phone, for example Touch ID on the iPhone 5s was a massive addition for security focused smartphone users. Similarly, the Nokia Lumia 1020’s 41 megapixel camera brought in interest from photography fans, even if they had never used a Windows Phone before.

The Galaxy S6 isn’t scrimping on this area either, with the addition of wireless charging, making for a handy way of topping up your battery. Also, with its fast charging capabilities (which provides 4 hours of life off just 10 minutes plugged in) you can’t go wrong with the S6. Also, introducing Samsung Pay with the handset, you’ll be able to use either Samsung device to pay for goods in any store that accepts debit or credit cards in the near future!

Plenty of the features which already made a home on the S5 are sticking around as well, with the likes of the fingerprint scanner, Kids Mode, Ultra Power Saving Mode and Samsung Knox obvious inclusions. Also, Android Lollipop is set to be available out of the box, with a freshly designed Touchwiz plastered over the top of it, making for an up to date piece of software as well.

So those are just some of the things you can find inside the Samsung Galaxy S6. Of course, Samsung is sure to update some of these features as well, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some more features sneak onto the device after it’s released.
